About us

THE TEAM

Grappling Fight Team came to Kuwait from Brazil in 2014. The room is still built the same way: a Brazilian curriculum, a Kuwaiti family, and a standard that does not drop.

History

FROM RIO TO KUWAIT

GFTeam — Grappling Fight Team — is one of Brazil’s flagship academies, born out of Universidade Gama Filho and led from Rio by Master Júlio César Pereira. The Kuwaiti branch was opened in 2014 by Professor Abdulrahman AlHamdan, who brought the team, the pedagogy, and the Não Para mentality across the water.

Today the academy is led by Professor Jarrah Alhazza. Around him is a black-belt staff — Abdullah Aljasmi, Mubarak Alsultan, and Saleh Almayyas — teaching kids from five, adults from their first class, and a competition team that regularly stands on IBJJF, AJP, ADCC, and both national and international podiums.

Objectives

OUR FOCUS

01
Technique first
We teach the GFTeam game — pressure, posture, and timing — so every student learns to solve problems on the mat.
02
Character on and off the mats
Jiu-jitsu is a daily practice in respect, humility, and grit. Leave your shoes and your ego at the door.
03
A path for every age
From five-year-olds in the kids program to adults and competitors, jiu-jitsu is for everyone — even when the goals vary.
04
Compete with purpose
When a student is ready, we take them to the local circuit and beyond. Medals follow the work. Não Para.

Coaches

THE INSTRUCTORS

Founder · Head Coach

Abdulrahman AlHamdan

Brought GFTeam to Kuwait in 2014

Professor Abdulrahman AlHamdan planted the GFTeam flag in Kuwait — a direct line from the Brazilian academy to Sabah Al Salem. The culture, the curriculum, and the standard started with him.

Leading Coach

Jarrah Alhazza

The academy is now led by Professor Jarrah Alhazza, a black belt known across the Gulf as a competitor and a teacher. The first Kuwaiti martial artist to step onto the ONE Championship stage, he still coaches from the middle of the room — not the sideline.
